Bake Cockpit ("the app", "we") is a web app for planning, timing and recording pizza and bread bakes, available at app.bakecockpit.com. It is operated by Jeremy Frank in Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, where it is stored and who it is shared with.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your email address, and a password if you create one. Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider and are never visible to us.
- Information from Google, if you sign in with Google. Bake Cockpit asks Google only for the basic sign-in permissions (openid, email and profile). Google gives us your name, email address, profile picture and a Google account identifier. We do not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, contacts or any other Google data.
- Bake records you create. Bakes, schedules, notes, temperature readings, settings and photos you add in the app.
- Information stored in your browser. The app keeps settings and a working copy of your bakes in your browser's local storage so it works quickly and offline. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.
- Basic server logs. Our hosting provider records technical request information, such as IP address, time and requested address, for security and troubleshooting.
How we use information
- To create your account, sign you in and keep your bakes separate from other users' bakes.
- To provide the app's features: scheduling, recording, photo analysis and exporting your bake records.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or use it to build profiles for anyone else.
How we use information received from Google
Your Google name, email address, profile picture and account identifier are used only to create and identify your Bake Cockpit account and to show you which account is signed in. They are not shared with anyone except the service providers listed below that run the sign-in and store your account, and they are not used for advertising.
Bake Cockpit's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Service providers
We use these companies to run the app. They process information only to provide their service to us.
- Supabase: account sign-in and account data storage.
- Vercel: hosting the app and its server functions, and storing photos you upload.
- GitHub: storage of bake records for the app's original single-user setup.
- Google: the "Sign in with Google" service, when you choose it.
- Anthropic and OpenAI: when you ask the app to analyse a photo, write a bake summary or suggest a fix for a bake, that photo and the related bake details are sent to one of these AI providers to produce the result. Nothing is sent to them unless you use one of those features.
Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States.
How long we keep information
We keep your account and bake records while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account information and bake records within 30 days, except where we must keep something to meet a legal obligation. Copies you exported, and data stored in your own browser, remain under your control.
Your choices and rights
- You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account by emailing the address below.
- You can remove Bake Cockpit's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account's security settings.
- You can clear the app's data from your browser through your browser's settings.
Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections. Access to stored data is limited to the account it belongs to and to the operator for running the service. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Children
Bake Cockpit is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be shown in the app.
